Policy documents on the support to be provided for Physically disabled students
The PWD (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights, and Full Participations) Act, 1995 was enacted to give an effect to the “Proclamation on the Full Participation and Equality of the People with Disabilities in the Asian and Pacific Region.”
Under the PWD (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights, and Full Participations) Act, all the educational institutions in India should have a quota of 3 per cent for disabled students. But disabled students are hesitant to take admissions in colleges because of lack of facilities provided by the institution. Teaching methodologies, curriculum and examination methodologies should fulfil the needs of disabled students.

- Students are encouraged to take part in extracurricular activities
- Magnifying glass is used as an assistive device for examination purposes which is available with examination committee whenever needed by the student with disability.
- If disabled student writes application letter to examination committee regarding need of scribe or reader, they are provided with the same as per the university norms.
- Extra time is provided for writing exam to students who are physically disabled as per the university norms.
