Admission Policy

  • Ramanand Arya D.A.V College is Punjabi Linguistic Minority College, administered under the provisions of the Indian Constitution, to promote the welfare of the Minority community.
  • As per the decision taken by Honorable High Court dated 12th October 2017(Writ Petition No. 1726 of 2001 and University of Mumbai Circular (No.Aff./Recog.I/Admission/(2018-19)/10/of 2018), dated 30th May, 2018), caste reservation is not applicable to minority colleges.
  • 15% Management Quota will be applicable to all the colleges including Minority Colleges as per University Circular Number Spl.Cell/(68)/2018/2005 dated 3rd June,2005.
  • Out of other remaining seats, 50% seats will be allotted to minority and 50% seats will be allotted to open category. For both the categories, In house students will be admitted first. The remaining seats will be given to the outsiders.
  • Colleges are requested to form the Admission Cell/Committee comprising of Senior teaching staff inclusive of representative of reserved category for smooth conduct of the admission process.
  • As per circular No. Special Cell/2/2008 dated 25th January,2008; 3% seats are reserved for Physically handicapped students.
  • Two seats are reserved for students from Jammu and Kashmir as per University circular number Aff/ICC/2012-13/22 dated 8th January 2013.
  • 1% seats are reserved for transgender students.
  • 3% seats are reserved for following categories:

- Wards of transferred Central/State government officers or employees

- Wards of current or Ex-Servicemen of defense

- Students who have achieved excellence in sports and cultural activities at National    and State level

- Widows/ abandoned women

- Wards / grandchildren of freedom fighters
