The Department of Economics strives to keep itself abreast of dynamic changes happening in pedagogy. In this endeavour, the faculty in the department makes best efforts to update their knowledge and skills to keep pace with developments in the teaching-learning process. To integrate technology for improved the efficacy in the teaching-learning process, the Department has initiated extensive use of multimedia such as Google Classroom and Youtube lectures. The faculty in the department regularly post useful articles, study materials and recorded lectures on Google Classroom for the benefit of students.

- An essay writing competition on 26th July 2018. Twenty three students participated in the activity.
- A debate competition on the topic, “Does Generation-X needs Classroom Teaching?” Twenty two students participated in the activity.
- A study tour to the RBI’s Monetary Museum on 8th January, 2019. Forty seven students visited the museum.

- Attended a session on Criterion-III of NAAC at the State Level Training Programme on ‘Empowerment of IQAC and NAAC: New Guidelines’ for IQAC Coordinators / members organised by the Satish Pradhan DnyanasadhanaCollege of Arts, Science and Commerce, Thane on 10th April, 2018.

- Participated in the State Level Training Programme on ‘Empowerment of IQAC and NAAC New Guidelines’ for IQAC Coordinators/ members organised by the Satish Pradhan Dnyanasadhana College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Thane from 9th April to 11th April 2018.
- Participated in a six days ‘Train the Trainer Workshop’ on ‘Flipped Learning’ organised by K.J. Somaiya College of Science and Commerce, Vidhyavihar, from 23rd April to 26th May and on 10th and 11th May, 2018.
- Participated in the ‘T. Y. B. Com. Syllabus Revision Workshop’ organised by Pillai College, New Panvel in June, 2018.
- Participated in an international conference organised by the Indian Economic Association at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra, J&K and presented a paper on ‘Youth aspiration vis a vis demographic dividend’
- Organised a ‘Voters Awareness Workshop’ for ‘156-Vikhroli Assembly Constituency’ on 27th September, 2018
- Participated in 125th Orientation Programme organized by the Academic Staff College, UGC MHRDC, University of Mumbai from 5th October, 2018 to 2nd November, 2018
- Attended a five days’ workshop on ‘LaTeX’ workshop organised by LaTeX Maharashtra and D. G. Ruparel College, Matunga from 12th November to 16th November, 2018.
